After capturing Ted Honychurch, the terrorists, as described by the Chronicle and others of society, were marching through the dense forest. Unluckily, Eric Joseph took a wrong step in the dark, and tumbled down a precipice. He bawled for help but the others turned their backs on him. According to the New Chronicle, he was rescued after two weeks and was tended to at the hospital.
